Creating my 'tied up' alphabet

We were briefed as a task in the typographic design project to produce an alphabet constructed from an object of our choice. I chose my broken chain necklace which had a bow on it to add a pretty addition to the piece. By dangling it onto the surface and creating the letterforms in lower and upper case I produced an alphabet from them.

Below are the letters a b and c before editing them. I used a viewpoint to make them in so they were all pretty much a similar size ...

These are a - c in uppercase

These are a - c in lower case

I then took these photographs into Photoshop ...

This was my final pronted to A3 which I named 'tied up' because it appeared it was tied by the ribbon.

Very pleased with my outcomes as it met the tasks brief as well as being an effective piece

Self Promo - producing the final outcome

For my self promo project I got a merit. To increase this grade I decided to re-visit the project and develop it to a higher standard to achieve a higher grade. Alongside various tasks the main part I developed was my final outcome (postcards) these were aimed to promotes myself as a designer. Below is the outcomes.

I developed them all but decided to choose 8 for the finals (shown below)

Below is my favourite one
This is my favourite of Em and I. In the Shepard fairly style self portrait

This is the back. I chose to alter the typeface chosen before to a more personal and favourite don't that represents me. I chose 'into the vortex' because it is one of my favourite ones as well as on my shop logo and business card.

I then developed these a step further and created a promotional pack including these postcards and my own postcard and business card design.
